• 7:05 - 8:00pm - Choosing a Camera / Tapeless Workflow in the Field
Choosing a Camera / Tapeless Worksflow in the Field will cover the fundamentals of different formats and codecs for shooting video on a tapeless set or in the field. Learning the differences in each manufacturer’s products and how it affects post will be a major topic covered in this class. Other topics will include various shooting styles in a tapeless environment and techniques for downloading and preserving media in the field, including solutions such as AJA’s KiPro. We will also outline the costs involved in a tapeless world
and compare them to various modern tape-based mediums and traditional acquisition options.

• 8:00 - 8:20pm - Choosing Storage and Media Management 101
Storage and Media Management is one of the key components when shooting tapeless. This class will cover the basics of storing media from downloading on set all the way through post-production and archiving digital media. We will explore storage solutions for a variety of applications and introduce the concept of using RAID arrays for storage, which will also be covered in-depth in Media Management 201.

In this new age of formats and choices, the workflow and decision making process for post-production actually begins before shooting frame one of your project. Topics covered in this class will include advanced techniques and tools for downloading and organizing tapeless footage a steps to follow from pre-production through post. Adobe's Steve Whatley will be demonstrating some revolutionary new ways to use metadata from script to distribution, as well as using OnLocation in the field.
Following Prepping for Post-Production, we will go right into a panel Q&A covering all the topics discussed over the course of the night.

Day two will start by looking at the new way to handle your media as you transition into post-production. We now produce media in the “Wild, Wild, West” of the high-definition world, and we'll delve into some new ways of implementing the madness into YOUR workflow!

Media Management 201 picks up where 101 leaves off. This class will cover advanced media management techniques including utilization of RAID arrays as storage systems for projects large and small, as well as archiving and future-proofing projects in a tapeless workflow. We will examine various types of RAID arrays and take a look at the use of shared area networks for storage solutions on large projects.

Very rarely does each and every image that comes from the camera in the field have perfect color and a stylized look that fits the mood of your show. We’ll dive in with expert Colorist Patrick Inhofer and learn some great ways to make the finished product look stunning! We will cover HD color correction workflows from a wide variety of sources, from P2 to RED One. Following Color Correction for HD, we will go right into a panel Q&A covering all the topics discussed over the course of the night.
